Syria Conflict Update: February 22-28, 2018 The Syrian government’s siege and bombardment of Eastern Ghouta remained intense despite two separate ceasefires from the UN and Russia. Fighting around the borders of Eastern Ghouta continued, as did opposition shelling of Damascus city. In northern Syria, new opposition coalitions have taken significant territory from Hai’yat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly Al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra), apparently with minimum fighting. Operation Olive Branch, the Turkish-led offensive into Afrin, gained control over the whole of the Syria-Turkish border from Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, a Kurdish-led organization in northern Syria).
Syria Conflict Update: March 1-7, 2018 The Syrian government’s bombardment of Eastern Ghouta continues, despite ceasefire attempts and UN Security Council Resolution 2401. Humanitarian aid deliveries have been repeatedly hindered by continuous violence, and have only delivered a fraction of the food and medical supplies agreed upon by all parties. The Turkish-led Operation Olive Branch achieved new gains during this reporting period. Turkish and allied opposition forces have pushed towards the city of Afrin from both the north and south, forcing the US and its Kurdish allies to declare a halt to ground operations against ISIS in eastern Syria.
Weekly Conflict Summary: March 15-21, 2018 During the reporting week, pro-government forces once again took significant territory from the remaining opposition pockets in Eastern Ghouta. Ahrar al-Sham forces located in Harasta have agreed to an evacuation, along with 6,000 civilians. Despite the deal, other opposition forces have continued fighting. A major rocket attack on a Damascus market originating from one of the nearby opposition controlled areas, killed at least 35 civilians. Humanitarian aid deliveries to the area remain hindered, and aid groups are struggling to find sufficient shelter for the growing number of IDPs. Operation Olive Branch, the Turkishled offensive for northwestern Syria, took the city of Afrin from defending Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, a Kurdish-led organization in northern Syria).

Regime Gains in Damascus, Syria: March 12 – 26, 2018 (27 March 2018) Pro-Bashar al-Assad regime forces, including Russia and Iran, forced the reconciliation and evacuation of two of the three opposition-held pockets in the besieged Eastern Ghouta suburbs of Syria’s capital, Damascus. Salafi-Jihadist group Ahrar al-Sham fully evacuated the town of Harasta under a deal brokered by Russia. Activists reported that roughly 4,500 local residents, including more than 1,400 fighters, ultimately departed Harasta for Idlib Province on March 22 – 23.

بالفيديو.. قصة تمثال كاوا الحداد في عفرين من صنعه وحتى تحطيمه (March 20 2018)عمل ثلاثة من النحاتين في 18 آذار 2016، على صنع تمثال جديد للأسطورة كاوا الحداد، كلهم أمل في نصب هذا الرمز الكوردي في عفرين.

WARNING UPDATE: PRO-ASSAD COALITION SET TO ESCALATE IN SOUTHERN SYRIA (31 January 2018)Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his allies in Russia and Iran are preparing to launch imminent combat operations in violation of the de-escalation zone in southern Syria.
The Carter Center: Syria Conflict Mapping Project Reports During this reporting period, the Turkish-led offensive (Operation Olive Branch) continued to advance on Afrin, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, a Kurdish-led organization in Syria’s north). South of Aleppo city, pro-government forces continued their advance into opposition-held Idleb, securing the town of Abu al-Thuhour as well as about a dozen small towns to the north and west. Around Damascus city, pro-government forces continued their bombardment of opposition-held Eastern Ghouta.

منظمات دولية تصدر تقريراً يحذر من إجبار اللاجئين السوريين على العودة إلى بلادهم (February 5 2018)أصدرت منظمات دولية عدة من بينها “المجلس النرويجي للاجئين” و “Save the Children” تقريراً بعنوان “أرض خطرة” حذرت فيه الدول المستضيفة للاجئين السوريين من إجبارهم على العودة إلى بلادهم أو دفعهم باتجاه اتخاذ قرار العودة، وشددت المنظمات في تقريرها على أن الأوضاع الأمنية داخل سوريا هي غير مناسبة على الإطلاق لعودة اللاجئين من نواحٍ عديدة، حيث يواجه اللاجئون السوريون مصيراً مجهولاً في حال عودتهم.
حقائق عن المقاتلة الكردية بارين كوباني التي تم التمثيل بجثتها (February 5 2018) تقول القيادية في وحدات حماية المرأة الكردية نسرين عبدالله إن بارين قتلت مع ثلاث من رفيقاتها في قرية قرنة في الأول من الشهر في فبراير/شباط عام 2018 وذلك “في مواجهات عنيفة مع الجيش التركي والجيش الحر، وأنهن حاربن حتى اللحظة الأخيرة من حياتهن ورفضن الإنسحاب عندما تلقين التعليمات بذلك ، وأن كل الروايات التي كتبت عن تفجيرها لنفسها عارية عن الصحة”.

UPDATE: Ain Dara (30 January 2018) Between January 20 and January 22, 2018 the Turkish Air Force conducted an airstrike on the Early Iron Age temple at Tell Ain Dara, an archaeological site located ca. 5.8 km south of Afrin in Aleppo Governorate. The Carter Center: Syria Conflict Mapping Project Reports (Jan. 18-24, 2018 | Weekly Conflict Summary) During this reporting period, a new Turkish-led offensive (dubbed Operation Olive Branch) began attacking territory controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, a Kurdish-led organization in Syria’s north). الحملة الجويّة والبريّة لقوّات النظام في ريف حلب الجنوبيّ وريف إدلب الجنوبيّ وريف حماة الشماليّ – الشرقيّ تتسبّب بتهجير عشرات الآلاف من المدنيّين وتنذر بكارثة إنسانيّة (January 19 2018)عشرات الآلاف من النازحين إلى شمال إدلب في حاجة إلى مساعدات مستعجلة، بعد أن هجّروا من منازلهم في ريف إدلب الجنوبيّ وريف حلب الجنوبيّ وريف حماة الشماليّ – الشرقيّ بسبب القصف الجويّ والمدفعيّ العنيف، الذي شنّته قوّات النظام والطائرات الروسيّة في المنطقة منذ بداية كانون الأوّل/ديسمبر من عام 2017.

على الولايات المتحدة إبقاء “الحماية المؤقتة” للسوريين (January 25 2018)حثّت “هيومن رايتس ووتش” الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية على تجديد منح “وضع الحماية المؤقتة” لـ 7 آلاف سوري تقريبا مقيمين فيها، فمع استمرار النزاع المسلح القائم في البلاد ” سيواجه أي شخص يجبر على العودة إلى سوريا مخاطر جسيمة جراء النزاع والانتهاكات الحقوقية والقانونية الواسعة النطاق”.

وثيقة “مجموعة واشنطن” بشأن سوريا: وصاية للأمم المتحدة وتقسيم وحكومات مناطقية (January 26 2018)الميادين تحصل على وثيقة خطيرة وضعتها “مجموعة واشنطن” لحلّ الأزمة السورية تتضمن إشارات إلى وضع سوريا تحت الوصاية المباشرة للأمم المتحدة، وتشير إلى تقسيم سوريا تحت مسمى اللامركزية وتشكيل حكومات مناطقية بصلاحيات كبيرة.

الدب السوري لم ينقرض ! .. آثار لاقدام للدب البني السوري في منطقة بلودان (January 28 2018)فيديو قصير مصور يوم السبت 20\1\2018، وتحديداً من جبل اليونان وهي أعلى قمة في بلودان تظهر آثار أقدام قد تعود للدب البني السوري الذي كان يُعتقد بأنه قد انقرض من خمسين سنة من سوريا

قصة قريتين (January 29 2018)ع. الداغستاني من دير فول وسمير تسي من بئر عجم حاولا أن يحكيا عن قريتيهما، و بعضاً من التراجيديا التي عايشاها دون نقصان باليوم والساعة والدقيقة والثانية. ليست فانتازيا أو حكايات للتسلية المبرحة. إنها قصص الموت السوري اليومي وهي رواية الجرحى والمفقودين والمظلومين والهاربين من العسف والقذائف الطائشة والموت الحتمي. قريتان طحنتهما الرحى السورية الهائلة فيما يحاول شاهدان أن يسردا ما شاهداه وشهدا عليه وكيف كان عليهما أن يتركا كل شيء وراءهما ويغذان الخطى باتجاه المجهول الذي لا يعرفان عنه شيئاً.
تراجع روسي عن «لجنة الدستور» في «وثيقة سوتشي» (January 30 2018)توصل المبعوث الدولي ستيفان دي ميستورا مع الجانب الروسي إلى مسودة نهائية لـ«وثيقة سوتشي» لمؤتمر الحوار السوري، حصلت «الشرق الأوسط» على نصها؛ تضمنت موافقة موسكو على شرط الأمم المتحدة، بترك تشكيل «اللجنة الدستورية»، وتحديد مرجعيتها وآلية عملها وأعضائها إلى دي ميستورا، وعملية جنيف برعاية الأمم المتحدة، في وقت علم أن المدعوين إلى المؤتمر تبلغوا خلال لقاء موسع في دار الأوبرا بدمشق «الخطوط الحمر»، بينها «رفض بحث صوغ دستور جديد والجيش والأمن» والتمسك بمبدأ «تعديل الدستور الحالي».
